I started my career 2001 with Volkswagen in the advanced development department for gasoline engines. I compleeted the last two years of my economics course in parallel to work via the Fernuniversität Hagen. First business years with Volkswagen were focussed on thermodynamical and charging development bringing the Volkswagen TSI engines to the great success they have been since these years. In 2010 I took over the technhical project management for the Volkswagen group W12-engines and with an approach to synergise all W12 derivates beeing created in the first millenium decade we designed a new W12 TSI engine beeing unrivalled in terms of the quadrouple aspects: fuel efficiency, package, comfort and performance. With the W12 TSI engine beeing lunched in the 2015 Bentley Bentayga I took over EA/M department at Bentley motors in Crewe from 2016. As head of EA/M I was responsible for the entire product line management W12 engines and for the 'future powertrain'. My kick off to deep dive into all powertrain technologies with more and more focus on sustainability. With this background I switched to Audi in 2019 to take over the 'Technology strategy driving and energy' inside the engineering department. The last years we focussed on the physical and technical boundary conditions for the transformation inside the indivudual mobility, which is the background for todays presentation.
